Donkey Stone is a brand new pairing of two highly regarded Lancashire talents: Alan St John, singer, guitarist, song writer and all round nice guy has teamed up with monologue writer and performer Steve Morris in order to offer unique entertainment with a very definite northern flavour.
Alan covers everything from self-penned material to Jake Thackery numbers and good old-fashioned, rollicking crowd pleasers. He's also a bit of a whizz on guitar and has been known to tell the odd joke or two.
Steve performs monologues. His scribblings are original, they're very often a bit naughty, they're superbly delivered and they're always downright bl**dy hilarious. And as a keen observer of life , Steve throws in a few stories as well. He swears every one is true but you be the judge!

The spirit and power of music pervades this tragedy of Stephanie, a world-class violinist who can never play again. Learning to cope with the debilitating illness Multiple Sclerosis, Stephanie reluctantly unfolds her life to her straight talking psychiatrist with astonishing results.
Tom Kempinski's play, inspired by the tragedy of the cellist Jacqueline du Pré is, above all, unforgettable. Freerange Theatre Company has gained a reputation for taking some of the finest pieces of drama to rural audiences, and this is no exception.

Internationally acclaimed Maori storyteller Rangimoana Taylor returns to the UK for a national tour and joins Spot On for one night only! Rangimoana tells the ancient myths and legends of his native Aotearoa (New Zealand). These stories are handed down over the centuries through an oral tradition and he takes his audience on heroic journeys to the heavens and the underworld inspired by great love and courage.
Suitable for all aged over 8. More for a general audience than a children's event.

A highly visual show consists of virtuoso guitar solos from around the world, punctuated by instrument swapping. The show is amplified and much of it is improvised using live effects.
Richard Durrant performs this show on classical, steel string, 12 string and electric guitars ... as well as the tenor banjo, mandolin, ukulele, cello and bodhran. Using live sampling he builds up huge stereophonic textures turning his instruments into a deviant orchestra.
Throughout the evening Durrant re-appears as a "straight", world class, classical soloist - something which becomes more arresting and unlikely as the show develops. The performance includes works by Bach, Barrios, Durrant, Lauro, Limbrick, Mozart, Pink Floyd and George Harrison - including music from Africa, Japan, Ireland, Spain and South America. Richard Durrant is a classically trained artist active in manv walks of musical life.
